Employee benefit packages include:

  • Medical & Dental Insurance
    • Health insurance plans are provided through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota. We
      offer two plan options including an HSA.
    • Dental expense coverage is dependent upon the Class (type) of services incurred. Class A are covered at 100%, Class B and C are 85% and 60% respectively.
  • Flexible Benefits allows you to pay for medical, dental and/or dependent care expenses with pre-tax money withheld from your paycheck.
  • Short Term and Long Term Disability
    • Short-term disability (STD) plan benefits employees who are unable to work because of a qualifying disability due to an injury or illness.
    • Long-term disability (LTD) plan helps employees cope with an illness or injury that results in a long-term absence from employment.
  • Life Insurance and AD&D
    • Basic life insurance plans are available for eligible employees.
    • Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance provides protection in cases of death resulting from an accident. AD&D insurance coverage is provided as part of the basic life insurance plan.
  • Paid Holidays
    • New Years Day (Jan. 1st)

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) provides employees opportunities for rest, relaxation, and personal pursuits. The rate at which PTO is accrued depends on the employment classification and the length of service. Accrual rate starts after 60 days of employment.
  • Retirement Savings Plan (401)
    • Allows employees to elect how much salary they want to contribute and direct the investment of their plan account to meet their individual retirement package needs.
    • Thomas Engineering contributes an additional matching amount to each employee's 401(k) contribution at a rate of 50% of the first 6% of their salary.
  • Education Reimbursement
    • Education reimbursement encourages personal development through formal education and training to help employees maintain and improve job-related skills or enhance their ability to compete for reasonably attainable jobs within Thomas Engineering Company.
    • We provide educational assistance up to $1,200 per year to employees for education or training taken at an approved educational institution.
  • Safety Shoes & Safety Glasses
    • Safety Shoes - Employees working in designated work areas are required to wear safety shoes to help prevent foot injuries, ankle injuries, slips and falls.
    • Safety Glasses - Appropriate safety glasses are provided to employees working in designated work areas to prevent eye and face injuries.
  • Flexible Scheduling
    • We offer flexible scheduling to allow employees to vary their starting and ending times based upon department/staffing needs.
    • We will consider part-time work based upon department/staffing needs.
  • Employee Assistance Program
    • We care about the health and well being of our employees and recognize that a variety of personal problems can disrupt their personal and work lives. While many employees solve their problems either on their own or with the help of family and friends, sometimes employees need professional assistance and advice.
